Resort Information

It's best to get hold of the local guide from the Tourist Office in the village centre, as this has the most up-to-date information, and also contains week-by-week activities. Please click here to view a map of the resort, with many of the amenities marked on it.

The following observations are from personal experience - you will no doubt form your own opinions!

Supermarkets - There is a large Intermarché and Super U as swell as Lidl in Bourg-St-Maurice if you need to stock up. Local Sherpa supermarkets are in Plan-Peisey, Vallandry and Arc 1800.
There are lots of ski-hire shops – see Skiing Information page for details.

There is a local delicatessen, La Petite Savoyarde a two minute walk down the hill, which sells fresh bread, and also a large selection of local dishes and specialities which can be heated up.

Restaurants/ Take-aways

In recent years the number and quality of restaurants in Peisey-Vallandry has increased. Here are a few of our recommendations.

Reasonably priced good local restaurants include:

Higher end, good restaurants include:

Several of the restaurants do takeaway pizzas including the excellent Le Refuge, though be careful to order ahead of time in peak times (eg Saturdays and School Holidays).

Further afield in Bourg St Maurice are Le Refuge Altitude 810 Phone: +33 4 79 07 52 54, and L’Indochine Phone: +33 4 79 07 31 49

The Bar Mont Blanc is a great stop off after a hard days ski-ing / boarding, and has regular entertainment (bands, karaoke etc). Check them out on Facebook.

We also like La Vache (Plan Peisey) and Mojo Bar is great for early apres (they even bring out some very welcome nibbles).

Bars & Nightlife in Arc 1800 - too numerous to mention. Check out with Mont Blanc staff what's going on. 1800 is only a 30-40 min. walk from the apartment. However, it is uphill on the piste, and can only be walked with suitable footwear. High heels and trainers not advisable! Lots of folk do walk it quite regularly and it saves a fortune on taxi fares.
